let the kids be kids! Let them have fun and celebrate like we did growing up! it has gotten do ridiculous that kids can't even have cupcakes for their birthday! Who the heck wants carrot sticks??? That's not fun! I missed out getting to make them for my son because this was taken away...bring back the fun times for these kids and let them be kids!!!!

Let children be children! This Politically correctness has gone way too far! Majority should RULE! If you do not want your child to partake keep them home, take the day off from work and be a parent if you believe so strongly. These parades were some of my fondest memories from school, let the children have some fun for an hour or so. Let us not make our children sacrifice because the world we live in has been so divided.

As a parent I like to pass down traditions to my kids and I don't think this is fair to the kids. 1 day a year for them to be creative and have fun. School is very important and I want nothing better then for them to get a good education but there needs to be a balance. 1 day a year and they get so excited to dress up and show off there costumes.

this is sad that we cant celebrate Americanized holidays and traditions but other religions and races can celebrate their traditions and holidays. Are we America or living for other religions and races.

The celebration of holidays at school is the PERFECT opportunity to teach children about other cultures, tolerance and respect. And think about how motivated the students would be to complete extension activities; the work would be so much more engaging and fun, and the students wouldn't even know the Common Core is embedded!

I as a parent of an East Haven elementary school student demand that Halloween parades be brought back into the school. The teachers would get a break from teaching and enjoy this time with their students. This would be a very positive event and I really hope that you consider making a change for the students, for the students that attend your schools. I would like my child to remember the exciting moments in elementary school, not just practicing lockdowns an emergency drills. Those are not the memories a child should remember me from attending elementary school. Memory should be filled with happy moments Like a Halloween parade. Elementary school students are very young they don't think of town politics and all the other reasons why we shouldn't have Halloween parades.

So happy someone is doing this! Halloween is the best time of year! Specially while youre in school, there's nothing more exciting than getting to show all your friends that you won't see on halloween, your costume! Love this! Hope to see it do well!
