I think they should bring it back because it's a good reward for a Friday afternoon

completely agree, remove the banding system. The learners code is ignored by teachers as children who do achieve everything for that band are still not rewarded which leaves children feeling like they are never any good at anything. Children are excluded from friendship groups through this system, It always seems to be used for rewarding naughty kids! be a nice kid and play ball and look this is what you can be rewarded with, regularly! bands are a way of reducing man hours and do not encourage children to be the best they can be. Bands are leverage tools which unfortunately have the opposite effect making children regularly feel incapable of tasks before they've even begun them, segregated from friends less intelligent than other children of the same age. Children should be awarded for they're good behaviour and made to feel like they have achieved something. Plus it helps children have a positive attitude towards school.

We think that the band system seems extremely unfair. Our son wants to try his best and be a good lad but often comes home upset and feeling very down if he is unsuccessful in gaining the next band like his friends. He said he felt quite segregated from his friends because of the colour of his band. We all agree to the school uniform because it stops any child being different and prevents bullying but we are making the children different by banding them. Also is this a learning band or behaviour band it's quite unclear because they gain them by good work and can loose them for bad behaviour (extremely confusing) We do not agree with the band system.

i think the golden time were an excellent way to reward children with their good behaviour...i agree that the band system is a way of putting tremendous un-needed pressure on the children at a young age...its hard enough for them with the everyday work load at school and extra homework
