Charging for parking is bad for both consumers, who will be tempted not to stay long, and for the businesses, who will suffer because no one will stay long enough to visit multiple shops. It's a penny wise and poundfoolish decision. More and more stores are closing in the CC mall, which is bad for Denver. Charging to park makes this worse. And everyone will suffer at Xmas!

I specifically don't shop at cherry creek any more bc of the cost to park. Sometimes I spend hundreds of dollars and loads of hours there- I don't want to pay an additional $15 to park.

It's insulting to have to pay to go shopping so we can pay more! Isn't it enough to get our business in the first place? Though you no longer have mine now as I refuse to pay for parking!

How about fining or towing the abusers who dump their cars there all day, rather than pushing all of us away from shopping "our" mall

It's really a shame that shoppers should have to be the ones to bear the grunt of the overwhelming development in Cherry Creek and abuse of free parking by construction workers. There really needs to be validation for shoppers, we need to support local businesses too!

What s ridiculous idea to charge for parking. Can't you see it's hurting business! I will boycott shopping at Cherry Creek as long as you charge for parking in addition to all of my friends!

Having discussed this issue with many neighbors in Cherry Creek, there is overwhelming agreement that people are staying away from the mall or spending much less time there if they go at all. Many are going to Park Meadows instead which has a much larger variety of stores. We are very concerned about the mall closing or many merchants going out of business which would obviously have a major impact on the local community. We believe that a 3 hour free parking policy would address the issues associated with people parking for free and going elsewhere to shop but would allow people who legitimately have an interest in shopping or eating at the mall to do so without time pressure.

Mall parking should be free. Punish the people that park their for their work nearby not the shoppers.

It's not the consumers fault that the expansion of north cherry creek and the lack of parking there has driven more people to park at the mall. I've stopped shopping here completely along with 4 friends.

Paid Parking meters are destroyers of retail businesses....and only great for the companies that sell the devices.

No mall needs to charge for parking if the want to keep their tennants in business. 2 hour limit is as silly as Boulder is doing with Chautauqua. Park Meadows not much father, more retailers, nicer venue and free parking and of course on line shopping-no parking or shipping and hassle free. Know your competition.

Was in the mall with my granddaughters yesterday. Stayed 2 minutes over an hour, had to pay $3. Ridiculous!

Don't listen to these whiners. They are all employees of cherry creek north businesses that were abusing the parking garage and they don't want to pay to park because they are cheap bastards.
