Having three breaks is especially important for high school athletes, who are often told they cannot go away if a break falls mid-season. Bringing back this third week off would give families more options for time away.

Please bring back a week long February Vacation and also keep April vacation.
Getting a 4 day weekend does not equate to a full week off which means 9 days off in a row. Many students and teachers are often sick with colds or flu etc... at this time and clearing out the schools for a week for rest, recovery, and relaxation is a huge benefit. Also, even when there is not a full week, parents often pull students out of school for vacation anyway, which then leaves the students playing catch-up when they return.

February vacation week always brought our family together to take a much needed family trip. This provides relief and fun to brighten up the dead of winter. It motivates and refreshes us all and creates memories. Please bring back the Feb. vacation week. Thank you.

Long overdue. We vote for it every year and it seems to be ignored!! What is the real benefit to eliminating it! Working parents do not need their kids out of school by June 15th! Camps do not start til late June!

I do like the idea of going back to what I would consider the "traditional" calendar. I like the ebb and flow of the year rather than the long time off. Thank you.

We used to ski for that week of February, and it was family time for us. Since we travelled about 6 hours away for that week, now that it's only 4 days off, we aren't as able to drive 6 hours for only 4 days. Please bring back the full week!

There is ZERO good or valid reason supporting the decision to take away the Februrary break.
1. Many families have timeshares and struggle with the decision to take kids out of school. This means that those who remain at school are facing a diluted week of instruction as teachers know that attend eve is low.
2. Aligning out town's vacation schedule with other towns' schedules make it more difficult to compete for time off at work. It means that everyone at work competes for the same days off. It works best when vacation schedules are staggered.
3. We no longer are able to take ski vacations with our kids and other families. It sounds like an entitlement, but this week in February would bring us together with friends and families for memorable experiences across the generations. It's so sad to think that we won't be able to take these vacation with our kids again.
4. We don't want schools ending before the end of June because there is absolutely nothing for our kids to do at home for those two weeks. We are working families who rely upon camps. Camps don't begin until late June! So, we end up taking an April vacation and then another one a month later in June! This is simply ridiculous!!!!
