Everyday senseless tragedies are occurring on our roads with horrific fatalities that are taking the lives of our teenagers as well as others, due mostly in part to the fact that we have removed drivers education from the high schools and instead are relying on high priced driving schools that do not adequately teach defensive driving skills needed for good drivers! We had less fatalities, less accidents, and more cautious drivers when they were offering it in school. No more teenagers should have to die because they were speeding, driving recklessly or unable to make split second decisions which is critical in defensive driving. Instead people and definitely not just teenagers are acting like their cars are not a dangerous machine and instead treating it more like a toy. I will be sending this petition to the school board first and if that doesn't work I will be sending it to the governor. Something needs to be done.
