I left last summer believing the road to my future felt cemented, secured, and transparent, however that was merely a delusion. As my senior year began I expected to start my second year in drafting which would earn me a certificate as well as a possible scholarship. Aside from the obvious benefits I’ve stated this course was crucial to the career I wish to follow because it gave foresight to what it entailed and whether or not I could follow through. The second year in particular would teach me the online programs used by architects along with further grasping the fundamentals in drafting. now you maybe thinking that there wasn't enough public funding for this course, however when there's classes called "team sports" which teaches students how to play sport cooperatively and "guitar class" which teaches students how to play the guitar, I highly doubt funding was entirely the issue. The shameful fact that my school would rather waste taxpayer money on classes which provides no future professions nor stable income is not only “deplorable” but also shows the school cares very little about the future wellbeing of their students but only that they past high school. I questioned the logic of my school not only the courses they choose to waste money on but also the fact that they allow students to pre plan their courses in advance in order to help structure their future career path however only to reveal that the course is no longer available. I created this petition to express by opposition towards the schools inconsiderate decision making and to re-initiate the drafting course.
