My wife and I agree that Crimson Field is the BEST series ever to air on television, and we are experts. Better than Homeland, Better than The Americans, better than Downton Abbey, better than The Killing, better than House of Cards. The acting and casting is brilliant, the soundtrack is perfect, the production values are first-rate, the plot is intricate and addictive, with amazing insights into human psychology in the ultimate stress. One of our other favorites was London Hospital, but Crimson Field was better. BBC has amazing vision in creating these series but seems very short-sighted in killing them. Another that had great potential was "Island at War." That one really had us hooked.
