The Crimson Field is beautifully written, beautifully directed and beautifully depicted by wonderfully talented actors. There are altogether too few dramas concerned with World War One, and this one touched my soul. I'm sure that the vast majority of us here realise that the ultimate message is one of remembrance; it is so important that we do not forget the sacrifices made by those involved in war, that ultimately affords us the freedom we enjoy today. As a drama, there remains so much more to be told. Please recommission; it truly deserves it.

The Crimson Field is a wonderful drama about VAD's and doctors and nurses at a field hospital during WWI. It's not intended to be a repetition of all the documentaries that already exist on the World Wars. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the acting of Richard Rankin, Oona Chaplin, Suranne Jones and many other cast members. 6 episodes just wasn't enough, another series is needed to continue the stories of all the characters. Sign today to support Sarah Phelps and the actors involved!

Sounds like sour grapes to me, Keith. An historical account, albeit fictional characters, need not be to the letter in every single instance. Unless you were there, to see that these things didn't happen. In that case I apologize. However, the stories that The Crimson Field followed were things that were not discussed during the period of WWI. Unfortunately, this does not mean they did not occur. The stories and lives of the women that served so selflessly should be something that all know. And something that is never forgotten.

Keith. I'm sure there are more appropriate forums available for you to post such negative views? I rather feel that you've entirely missed the point; it is a drama series, not a documentary. As one who has studied WW1, do you not feel that anything that inspires interest in your beloved subject matter is important? More so than, for example, The Voice? Might I suggest you air such views elsewhere, perhaps whilst watching the Sky Documentary channel with a nice strong cup of tea.

Don't you have anything better to do? Why search out and post about a show you didn't enjoy? Go watch documentaries. Go complain about Britan's Got Talent or The Voice or a cooking show….

Incorrect, Mr Roberts. the Crimson Field is a period drama, not a soap opera like Eastenders.
And we have no way of knowing whether the men and women who served in WWI would have considered CF a credit or not as the most part of them are now dead.
My great-grandad served in WWI and returned home afterwards, a privilege not everyone was lucky enough to have. Meanwhile my grandad spent his childhood at home waiting.
I knew him well enough to know that if he had lived to watch CF he would have been too busy admiring the good looking women to care about any "historical errors" as he did in everyday life till the day he died.

Keith it was a drama NOT a historical documentary. As a historian I do understand the importance of historical accuracy however, this was a drama not a documentary. The BBC has made a lot of WW1 documentaries this year - if you want historical detail watch them (as I did too) and let the rest of us just enjoy a bit of drama that focused on women for once!
