Just finished watching this wonderful series after receiving the dvd for Christmas. What a breath of fresh air - enjoyed thoroughly by my whole family : children to grandparents alike. How disappointing then to discover there will be no further series. It seems that the BBC have struck gold with a warm hearted family show only to quickly abandon it after only scratching the surface of the story. There must be so much more to tell and what a shame to leave it untold. We will all sadly miss what could have been while left with the endless masses of over populated soap operas, police procedurals and reality shows. BRING BACK OUR ZOO !!!

I am very disappointed to here that Our Zoo has been axed. I live in the village that the programme was filmed in, in fact they filmed in my garden. It was a lovely, lovely story.

Quote from BBC "However, in order to create room for new shows and to keep increasing the range of BBC One drama we sometimes have to make hard choices and it will not be returning for a second series." In other words over 4.5 million viewers can go away, because we know better than they do! Surely this was a new drama and people liked it, but of course BBC need to make more cookery programmes and 'real life' stuff that are cheaper to make. Let's face it, if it had been scheduled at the weekend there may have been even more viewers who liked it, still BBC know best so be told people! Sarcastic rant over.

brilliant family series that needs a second series. not enough programs that can be watched and enjoyed by all the family whatever their age. sunday evening would have been the best time to air.

It would be amazing to see this come back as a second series! As a local to Chester and a proud member of the zoo it is wonderful to see where it all began. The shoe really brings the history of the zoo to life

Come on BBC, this is a good quality series that license fee payers want to watch. Remember Ripper Street, another bad descion by a BBC suit.

Don't understand why a popular show that's been nominated for awards has been cancelled while other poor quality shows continue.

Our licence money should be spent well, not on reality tv rubbish

Are the schedulers at the BBC idiots. A family drama, perfect for Sunday evvenings, and they stick it on Wednesday at 9PM, then say there wasn't an audience. What we got instead was a drama about the war in Afghanistan - just what I need to set me up for a Monday morning Try repeating it in the slot it SHOULD have had and see the audience then!

It was undoubtably one of the best dramas of 2014 and the acting was superb. They bought The Musketeers back for a second series, so why not Our Zoo?
