The reason given was to make room for new programmes. There's a whole lot of rubbish on the bbc, get rid of one of those!. This was a moving, funny and addictive series which was a huge hit. Really do not understand the bbc's decision to get rid of it! Hope public opinion can sway them

Such a shame that a successful family show is shelved for an unknown gamble. This was a show I could sit down of an evening with my 9 year old and watch happily.

Quality programme like this are a must,you can only put up with x factor type and reality programmes for so long a big turn off after a while.

BBC say they want to make room for more new shows, then get rid of old once like Eastenders or take them back to a once weekly show.
