The bbc has become a joke they don't care what the british public like, instead of renewing programs such as this or good night sweetheart they continue to waste our money on s**t, it's about time the licence fee was abolished.

After seeing Hollywood's "We Bought a Zoo" (Matt Damon, Scarlett Johannson), I was all the more impressed by "Our Zoo," which is certainly the best "zoo story" on film, with a range and relevance capable of reaching all viewers. It starts with a reminder of the devastating effects of the first "great war," an international conflict pitting humans against the weapons of 20th century technology. From there, we come to understand George's obsession. Having experienced the heartless, "unnatural," machinery of modern warfare, George is representative of all of us who find some consolation--even a sense of "wholeness" --not in social customs or organized religion but in nature. The cruelty inflicted upon wild animals is one of the injustices George wishes to address with his new, "naturalistic" zoo. The production values are exceptional (costly but never wasted); the cast is so believable we soon forget we're watching actors; and a star is born in the precocious Honor Kneafsey (as June Mottershead). I firmly believe that were Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos, to view this series, he would be keen on purchasing it for addition to the library of award-winning movies and dramatic series that are available for streaming as "Amazon Originals." (A 2nd possible buyer would be Netflix.)

So the BBC cancels this and yet continues to run Hollby City/Casualty..... words fail. Seems the best place to go to get a drama commissioned is anywhere but the BBC.

As a zookeeper at Antwerp Zoo, I loved to see The Chester Zoo beginnings. I would love to see the rest of it.

I work in the Antwerp zoo and would very much see a second season because some of our animals are now living in Chester zoo.So you could say there is a relationship!
