Strange ad on Simply Hired website - have contacted ALDI and they deny all knowledge of it. Also contacted local press but have heard nothing back! See copy of ad below:

i work at aldi in the middleton region anf im wanting to move to northern ireland but id have to start another new career path because i cant just transfer as you dont have a store over there

Given the fact that the other German store Lidl is booming in trade throughout N.I. then I really don't know what Aldi is afraid of, luckily for us our nearest store is in Buncrana and we shop in it if we are down there, but it's no good to my son and Daughter who live in Ballycastle and Newry. We need two Aldi stores in Derry as one would be continually packed, so how about one in East and one in West Bank of the Foyle providing the Sdlp allow planning permission, they do nothing but stop progress in our City since John Hume retired. They blocked Tesco for 11 years now but they will never block the online shoppers.

Heard the latest for irony? ALDI sell Ballycastle liqueur - yes, the same Ballycastle which is part of Northern Ireland - the same Northern Ireland they REFUSE to open any shops in!!!

Looks like 53 signatures are all we're going to get. Sorry folks and thanks to those of you who took the trouble to sign. Waitrose can forget about coming to NI - they're too expensive - it's a non-starter. Especially when according to a recent Which survey, ALDI has taken over from Waitrose as the Nation's Most popular supermarket (or at least the part of the UK that doesn't include NI)

Bothe the poor quality of our food here and the soaring prices reflects the need for much more competition in Northern Ireland. If the big three were to see their custom going to others they would be more interested in improving quality and perhaps less in confusing prices weights and quantities to get mor money for less.
