I’m old and it is difficult to go a long way to buy groceries. It takes over an hour just to drive to Aldi’s and back! They have very good produce much cheaper than other stores and on a very limited income that means a lot.
It would mean a great deal to be able to shop closer to home, economically and time wise.

I hate to drive to Wilkes knowing that Elkin has much more to offer. It's been my home town for a life time but we need less oil change shops and more better restaurants and stores.

Elkin is in desperate need of quality grocery stores. I was spoiled living in Clemmons, and I sorely miss Lowes, Publix, and Harris Teeter. Ingles is absolutely sub-par. Their produce is often spoiled(splotchy, dried, or partially rotten). Food Lion isn't much better, to be honest. I would love to be able to shop in town for healthier options instead of a 45 min drive back to Clemmons.
