Bad move Amazon. I'm staying with my kindle keyboard until you offer active content on newer devices.

I'm for this as I really think open API or app options are still valuable. I continue to wish for Evernote and Instapaper apps as text based reading is more distracted on my iPad and would pair really well with Kindle.

Indeed non-animated apps/games would be great on the kindle, esp given its battery live. I am a developer and I am interested in doing apps for the newest Kindle e-readers.

I returned the latest model kindle because it did not have active content. You are losing sales for no reason.

i use the calculator and accuweather active content on my 5th gen Paperwhite and want them on my 7th gen Paperwhite.

Games like: Sudoku, Word Search, Crosswords, SCRABBLE, Chess, Checkers, et cetera should be allowed on Kindle Voyage, even if no new Active Content is being developed; Active Content on the Paperwhite should be gandfathered to be legacy apps on the Voyage and 6th gen Kindle!

I love reading on my kindle but I also love taking a break and playing a game. Its part of what makes a kindle better than a paper book. It can all be carried around as one.

Was planning to buy a new kindle over my Nook for just that reason - I'll probably buy a used one now.

I have owned kindle since 2009 and have always enjoyed having a couple of stimulating games in addition to books. there are a lot of us who don't have tablets because we don't want them, but the screen on a smartphone isn't big enough to see well for games. please at least bring some word puzzles and mahjong type games back. had I known they were not available I would not have bought the new paperwhite!

Simple games would be a nice addition; the petition author has expertly articulated the reasons for apps on the Voyage.

I was so disappointed to learn that my new Kindle doesn't support the word games that I have enjoyed for years on my Kindle touch!
