During the NBA Finals, I saw commericals for the WNBA, making more fans get basketball all year long. Seeing that commercial made me think "Why isn't therea team in Philadelphia?" So then, I thought of starting this petition.
If there were to be a team name for this proposed Philadelphia team, it would be the Bell Ringers, because the Liberty Bell lis located in Philadelphia. For their home arena, it would be the 21,315 seat Wells Fargo Center in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the same arena where the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, the NLL's Philadelphia Wings, AFL's Philadelphia Soul, and the Villanova University men's basketball team (secondary arena) and Temple University men's basketball team (secondary arena) plays at.Many WNBA teams play at NBA arenas, so this choice would be good. It was also the former secondary home of the AHL's now defunct Philadelphia Phantoms and the MISL's now defunct Philadelphia Kixxfrom 1996-2009. The Phantoms then moved up to Glens Falls, NY from 2009-2014 and will be moving to Allentown, PA, this fall. The Kixx moved to the Liacouras Center at Temple University from 2009-2011, and then became extinct in 2011.

I have scheduled a briefing with a representative from a regional outlet to discuss the feasibility of utilizing the Wells Fargo Center for a WNBA franchise. My next focus is drafting a formal presentation to outline our case to the league office.

I would love to see basketball in Philadelphia because we need our females players to also become an players and it bring money to help our schools and help our children to become someone important.

That’s embarrassing and a slap in the face to all black voters. Honestly feel that it would be a great business move to bring in a wnba team to the city of brotherly love as though we have die hard fans when it comes to our teams no matter what sporting event it maybe and i feel as though a female team would actually bring in alot more attention and tourism to our city which means the city would bring in more money and what true business person doesn't want more money
