A true modern roundabout would passively adapt to changes in traffic flow. It would also reduce casualties about 10-fold, and reduce travel times while paradoxically reducing traffic speed.

Great idea to help ease the morning traffic for CVU bound and others!
Change the light or add a turn lane for north and southbound traffic. (Eek..more road construction)

Definitely a conversation worth starting. Wondering about one thing... Look closely at the wording in the key paragraph which describes the delayed light request. If I'm reading correctly, the last line should read "before the North bound traffic receives a green light." Southbound traffic is coming down the hill, turning left to get to CVU. The Northbound traffic would be coming out of the village, waiting for a "delayed green" while Southbound traffic turns left. No?
