BIG have been an inspiration to all community groups, driving this forward and sustaining their enthusiasm and initiative over a three year+ period. What they now plan to do will be of real value to the communities of The Inch and Craigmillar and the wider communities of South Edinburgh. Let's show the so-called co-operative council what communities can do together.

Bridgend provides a vital green space for Sth Edinburgh communities and is already home to the successful Allotments and Bridgend Growing Communities. The farmhouse would further enhance this. I fully support BIG's proposals.

Open space near the city is so valuable. This site should not be sold for development, but instead should be given to Bridgend Inspiring Growth for a nominal sum to allow it to take forward its proposals for imaginative community use.
Hope CEC will take a decision based on the volunteer input, the detailed community engagement that has taken place and will recognise the full range of benefits to the local and wider community of this initiative.

This project is really worth supporting and the authorities should really do so. It has the backing of the community and will bring a lot of benefits to it that will all improve its well being. Council/Government members, please listen to and support your communities.

Although not an Edinburgh resident I have been kept up to date with the activities at Bridgend Farmhouse via their blog. I think the vision statement they have produced for the farmhouse is one that the council should definitely get behind. This is a project which clearly has a lot of passionate people involved, committed to improving the lives of others through use of Bridgend. It would be terrible if the council quashed this excellent example of social entrepreneurship by selling-off the property in to private hands.

This is a hugely valuable site for the community, there would be plenty of other more suitable sites for private developers, it was be a huge waste of a beautiful building in the centre of a community not to take advantage of it.

We need the space for community projects, it makes no sense for it to become another wasted building, it has so much potential. please don't waste it!
