Brickyard Coyote Elimination Petition

I'm a licensed trapper and a hunter. I would be glad to help.

We need something done to take care of this problem.

The safety of people and pets is more important than a specious, hypothetical legal liability. Other local HOA boards address this without a (probably incorrect) legal opinion being used as an excuse to endanger residents & their companion animals.

Please help us to take care of them in an organized manner!

I would like for the HOA to take action to get rid of the coyotes.

Time to do something about this.

Countless neighborhoods and areas have had established an aggressive coyote management plan. Of course this takes resources and inclusion in the budget...let's do it prior to a child getting attacked...which will happen.

This is a Brickyard responsibility. Please take care of it before there are serious repercussions. Thank you!

Kill the Coyote! !!!

I am so over this problem. It is time to get rid of this growing menace before a human is attacked. Brickyard is no longer fun to walk in without constant surveillance. Not peaceful any more.

Agree. Recently lost an 8yr old Siamese cat to a coyote who was indoor/outdoors for years.

It's clear from the many documented sightings, attacks on pets, and the way that coyotes are roaming Brickyard Plantation without any fear or regard of humans, that the situation continues to escalate unabated. Action needs to be taken now or logic dictates it will only worsen.

Here is what escalation of a coyote problems looks like: 1.Increase in coyotes on streets and in yards at night 2.Increase in coyotes approaching adults and/or taking pets at night 3.Coyotes on streets, and in parks and yards, in early morning/late afternoon 4.Coyotes chasing or taking pets in daytime 5. Coyotes attacking and taking pets on leash or near owners; chasing joggers, bicyclists, other adults 6. Coyotes seen in and around children’s play areas, school grounds, and parks in midday 7. Coyotes acting aggressively toward adults in midday From what we know at Brickyard, the problem has escalated to at least stage 4 and steps 5-7 outline clearly what lies ahead. For now the coyotes have significantly impacted our lifestyle. My husband walks the dog while carrying rocks. The cat has been restricted to indoor life (very unhappy and trying her best to get out), which means we are super-vigilant on a two layer system of keeping our house closed (i.e. close the garage door behind us before opening the door from garage to kitchen and same procedure on the porch). It is only a matter of time until something goes wrong and the cat gets out or the dog (or worse people) get attacked. We need to put measures in place to prevent further escalation and also dial things back to where leaving a pet unattended in your own fenced yard for a period of time is safe.
