I have been a tennis member since 1988 and Brian has been the longest tenured head tennis pro. Whether you agree with him or not on some decisions, he always tries to be fair to all parties concerned, not playing favorites to any team or individual person. He has brought more into our tennis program than any previous head pro.
The tennis side of the club has always had to fight for upkeeps/repairs/maintenance. To fire Brian seems very much like corporate is making him the scapegoat of all that is wrong at the club. Truly unfair and especially the way it was handled.
I also believe it is unfair to blame a member for stepping up to the plate and bringing issues of our club to the forefront. However, for corporate to single out only one in management positions when there are problems all across the club is disheartening and undeserved.
I definitely support bringing Brian back.

So let me get this right, CBIGG took a review done by a club member of all the inadequacies at our club and your response is the firing the best tennis director we could ever have? Where has been management's physical assessments? Us tennis ladies travel to clubs all over the greater Houston area so we have seen them all. We don't stay members because of all the wonderful upkeep the club provides it's managers and members, no we have stayed because of our wonderful tennis director and our tennis pros that work under him. Brian is the heart and sole of our tennis and athletic programs and is a vital part of why we enjoy the club and continue as members. Members will now be reluctant to make any further comments on needs at the club for fear of management retribution. Please just bring Brian back and you can all work together on the needed changes.

I am saddened to hear about Brian’s firing we joined the club the same time Brian started and have found him to be a great instructor I will miss my lessons with him, I support bringing Brian back.

The underlying problem is how much the parent company will invest to maintain and improve the club versus the customer fees (net operating income and desired return on investment). Members want the club to be well maintained and a place they enjoy and are proud to bring guests. I believe Brian took an unfair hit from Ms. Koop's personal assessment. The club has let maintenance fall behind in many areas. Corporate needs to take a hard look at themselves as well as their club GM. It's hard to maintain large older properties especially those exposed to repeated tropical storms, and years of delaying projects amplifies the decay and cost to repair/replace/update. The GM needs to take responsibility for the cleanliness, appearance, employee training, adherence to safety regulations, etc. The problems that were pointed out in Ms. Koop's document will not be fixed by Brian's dismissal. I think the various comments in this online petition show that CIGG and the GM's action just pissed off a bunch of members.

I have been a member of Sweetwater for over 30 years. The club has always needed improvements and things good always be better but one thing that did not need to be improved was the people that work there. Sweetwater has always been about the people that work there. I would not been a member if it were not for the friends/employees that greet me every time with a smile or handshake. It has never been about the facility to me.

The decision of firing Brian is a slap on the face to us members of SWCC. We demand to bring him back on board. The problems with the club are going to only get worst. Cbons needs to invest not take away, otherwise we will leave.

I respectfully ask you to reinstate this amazing person whom most of us consider FAMILY...this is SHOCKING to say the least....a very BAD move on Sweetwater’s part...it is NOT too late to turn this around. You have opened up a hornet’s nest.

I have been a full golf member for over 30 years. My children grew up in the tennis program under Brian. My wife has played there for 27 years now. There may be several department heads that should be put on notice or fired but Brian is not one of the them.

Mr. Brian is a rule follower. My mom didn’t know about the Kid Cove rules and signed her guests boys in Kid Cove. Mr. Brian mentioned it was against the rules and explained the reason. The way I understand management, that’s the kind of person you want in a company and promote, not fire. I like rule followers like Mr. Brian.

Brian has done a wonderful job with a limited budget. It is evident that considerable money goes to golf, with less than stellar results. When comparing the shape of the tennis/athletics facility to the condition of the golf course and the selection in the bar/kitchen, Brian is doing much better than the balance of the club. I doubt the club will have any luck finding a better candidate than Brian, who also happens to be a great tennis instructor, that can do more than he could with the budget. I support bringing Brian back to the club.
