You CANNOT produce any more PRIME agricultural land. It has to be protected for future generations. Put BIG Solar on marginal land.

Land is not something we’re short of. Put the solar on land which is good for nothing else and leave productive land to be farmed.

Government subsidies are resulting in short-sighted, greedy decisions being made, regardless of local communities and their representatives. The monstrous solar farm will be plonked on productive agricultural land in Brewongle, if foreign-owned (surprise, surprise) Photon Energy has its way. Photon will cash in at our expense, as long as the company is allowed to do so. This will be at the expense of 500 acres of land which currently produces food for us.
Solar panels will happily sit on marginal land and perform the job they are designed to do. However, crops and stock will not be able to perform their job on marginal land.
The green energy industry will acquire a "greed energy" label very soon if the practise of acquiring food-producing land so they can line their pockets in the cheapest way possible is allowed to continue.
If you believe that solar farms should be built in Australia, but not at the expense of prime food-producing land then please sign this petition.
