Brenda Martin has been granted her release and is currently in the process of returning to Canada. Our formal pressure on the Prime Minister reached the necessary threshold to trigger a resolution to her case. We will monitor the final stages of her transition until she is safely home.

Absolutely disgusting treatment. I hope the truth comes out and she is back home soon.
Ridiculous. Our government is useless. Get her out of there now!!!!
Two years is way to long for someone to be stuck like this without real proof. The system failed her completely.
Something needs to be done. Ottawa needs to grow a backbone and get her out.
Sending prayers for Brenda. She should be back in Canada with her family where she belongs. Shame on the folks in charge for ignoring this for so long.

This is honestly just heartbreaking to read. How can a government just sit back and let this happen to one of their own for two years?? Bring her home.
