FDA Citizens Petition October 28th, 2009 Donna Brechler 4207 Camellia Circle East Jacksonville Florida 32207 904-733-1955 904-655-1051

Dear Sir,

After doing extensive research and being a 3 times surviiver of breast cancer who drank an enormous amount of bottled water everyday for the past 17 years I have begun a campaign based on common sense, l,  research conducted by John Hopkins and other reliable sources have verified that there is a chemical called Phthalates that has the capability of changing and in fact altering the hormones in our body. Esp, but not limited to women. This chemical makes us out of balance and increases the estrogen production in our bodies. Not good for people with estrogen sensitive cancer tumors. It has been proven that when the plastic used for bottled water and such, is heated it leaches this into the water in the bottle that we are drinking. When the water is placed in the bottles there are no guidlines set in place to keep the water cool until the consumer buys and takes it home. Now, the plants that fill the bottles aren't required to keep it cool, the trucks that transport it get so hot all year long, the summer being the worst, for high temp. then the stores, gas stations or grocery stores put it on the sidewalks in the sun or wherever they choose are subjecting it again, having already been subjected to high temp. WE NEED TO REGULATE the handling of this important water source. I am asking you to do so. If we balance the cost verses the potential of less sick women and men in our country and the loss of lives, we will find that regulating this will be far less costly. Please contact your internal depts, that will verify this chemicals determent to our bological balance

Sincerely, Donna Brechler 4207 Camellia Circle East Jacksonville, Florida 32207
