We, the citizens and neighbors of Imperial Beach California would like to take ownership of the Naval Outlying Field NOLF-Imperial Beach after a full economic audit and Base Realignment And Closure study is completed by 2015. We believe the BRAC process is an effective tool to reduce costs and save tax dollars. As our Congressional Representatives, we ask that you be good public stewards with our tax dollars by enacting a BRAC audit for NOLF-Imperial Beach. The Navy provides no revenue for our city while we bear the majority of the burdens of unsafe flying conditions, negative air quality and excessive noise that affects the quality of life for local residences. We believe the Navy can consolidate and realign their helicopter training at Naval Air Station North Island and away from populated areas such as ours and over less civilian populated neighborhoods and schools.
