Federal Government intrusion into the lives of our citizens and their children. Leave this to the states to decide, they are much closer to the will of the people.

In a nutshell let our kids be kids! They are not prepping for college at this time in their life! Teach the fundamentals they will need to be able to have an understanding of what's to come. Don't try to shove some much down their throats at such a young age.

I agree there should be standards set as to knowledge demonstrated for each grade level. However, data gathering and determining a childs career path is NOT acceptable! Everyone has an unlimited amount of potential to perform. A test score is not indicative of future potential and therefore not a measure of success!

So according to the government I am legally capable of choosing to murder my unborn child or change my gender. But am not free to choose what's best for my child concerning testing, data mining, and their education. More proof to follow the money trail. I have read tons in research why CC & PARCC are wrong for our children. The only reason I've heard to take it is so not to hurt the school & district score.

Please stop common core because it teaches our future, our children that everyone is, and should be the same. No two children are alike. They should not be expected to all learn the same way.

Unbelievable that BESE doesn't want to address this issue. Mine will be opting out. I'm not accountable for my school, they are! I'm accountable for my children and I won't fail them! -My response to the Special BESE Meeting article in the Advocate.
