BP Garage Traffic Lights

This problem is an accident waiting to happen and it is likely to be a child! There is so much lawlessness in the Hout Bay traffic with all the taxis and illegal cars from the IY informal settlement. Cars are not roadworthy, most drivers probably don’t have legal licenses and there is absolutely no law presence at all. This needs to be changed !!!

Please change this to a circle or put poles up at the turn only lanes and change the timing of the lights so they stay green longer at peak hours for the main road users.

Cars are bypassing the traffic lights by driving through the Sales Hire parking. Cars are also just bypassing cars waiting at the red traffic light.

Traffic is always backed up terribly and both taxis and “cockroach” taxis are lawless regardless of light changes - reckless and awaiting a tragedy

Someone is going to be injured or killed at the Hout Bay Main Rd and International School intersection. Autorities must take steps to make this intersection safer and law inforcement must visible to spot fine offenders.

Complete lawlessness, with children crossing , we need a marshal there

Very dangerous intersection. Rules are not adhered to large buildup of traffic in peak times

Please help urgently. We have all seen numerous near misses, there needs to be a solution to those irresponsible drivers who speed past ignoring the lights, do sharp turns unexpectedly, cut across the feeder lanes, pull in with no warning etc on a daily basis at a busy junction with many children on foot and on bicycles. Please help. As a first step, at least install cameras on the lights to really see what is going on and record registration numbers of offenders. Thank you.

I have come very close on numerous occasions to having an accident at these lights due to reckless taxi drivers,

There have been accidents and near accidents since this light was installed. Taxis and other drivers skip the red light completely or overtake on the wrong side of the road. Something must be done before something tragic happens

Problematic site of multiple traffic offences by multiple users, formal and informal taxis being the worst offenders.

Total disaster waiting to happen.

Twice had to avoid being hit by a taxi overtaking the traffic stopped at a red light going straight through when I was coming down Payne street and it was green for me to go.

If something isn't done soon there will be a serious accident lives could be lost.

Experience reckless and dangerous driving at these lights on a daily basis. Something needs to be done. It is after all at the entrance to a school.

Have to be done, some "Gentleman "are driving like lunatics.

Remove traffic lights

Total lawlessness. Not only Taxis and roaches but all groups and vehicles.
