Putin is a dictator and dictators have always used major sporting events to put a veneer of respectability on odious, reprehensible regimes (think Nazi Germany and the 1936 Olympics). Let the FA know that England should refuse to play in Russia (2018) in light of Putin's annexation of the Crimea and his part in the murder of innocent men, women and 80 children aboard the Malaysia Airways Flight MH17. The FA should also be encouraged to seek support for a boycott with American and European associations, urging them to act and let Putin and his cronies know where they stand in the eyes of the civilised world.
