Our beautiful seaside culture is being decimated by greedy councils who waste tax payers money unchecked. The notice board posts and meters are in themselves an eyesore and now the road is to be closed before planning has even been passed. It was made quite clear to me during a conversation with a council representative during one of the many consultation exercises regarding Princes Parade that the outdoor activities so many enjoy "free of charge" to the great benefit of their well being are not interesting or of value to the council i.e. They do not entertain and bring in revenue. I think they want to create themselves a mini Sandbanks!

I'm already doing this. How much did the installation of meters and signs cost? How much does ongoing maintenance and enforcement cost? How do parking meters 'reduce congestion' the reason given for putting this all in place?

They removed the new meters in Lyminge car park years ago as people just parked elsewhere and it caused more problems for the Council.

17 ticket machine for £51000 - a scandalous waste of money as people will go elsewhere.

Used to go fishing off the beach but I’ll try somewhere else now, shame the money grabbing council have to spoil the little pleasures in life by making it cost more. The Cafe kiosk used to get visited by us as a family which will also loose out by 6 icecreams, 4 cans and a couple of teas each time, and cake sometimes. Between jobs I used to park here too, handy and out of the traffic and sitting on the beach for my breaks helps reduce stress. Last, I’ll walk the dog somewhere else than the canal, and I think that’s what the charges is for, to stop dog walkers visiting and complaining about proposed development of the area.

This is going to hit Hythe hard as soon as people realize they cannot park up the sea front for free and enjoy a family day by the sea they are going to go elsewhere so now local business suffers. What a dumb thing to do to a wonderful place like Hythe. what next? charges to walk along the canal path

Charges and fines on families enjoying the gift of nature and nothing in return. SDC you're a disgrace.

This money grabbing council will kill Hythe. The parking restrictions will deter any visitors especially in the summer months.

Hythe Town Council have become greedy in my view. There is an erroneous view that people will pay to park along here, well let’s see shall we. It’s quite shameful to enforce parking charges to enjoy family time and sit, walk or jog along the beach.

I'm assuming blue badge holders are still able to park. To make the effort to drive out somewhere and then find there's no blue badge bays, often means driving all the way home again. This is too much for most disabled people. No parking, no outings. Give us a break please. Ensure there is enough disabled parking. Thank you.

When they re-surface road at A259 Seabrook road, where shall we park our cars without charge.. The road and parking outside my house is already full to brim and trying to park is a joke... £390,000 houses with no parking and more and more restrictions... Enough.. it needs sorting not complicating...

I feel this is wrong. People who want to visit the beach should not have to pay to do so. All I think this will do is drive people away from the area which will be a loss to Hythe

Soon there won't be visitors to our coastline. Shops, cafes and pubs will soon be struggling to keep their businesses going.
