Lionsgate Designs makes brooch bouquets geared towards brides for their weddings. Although the company makes beautiful bouquets, they have taken an ugly tactic in hopes of building their sales and deterring competition from brides themselves. A few YouTube gurus have recently been attacked for posting How-To Do-it-Yourself Brooch Bouquet videos by Lionsgate Designs' YouTube channel. They have posted comments on these video including: "Very unprofessional and no good information at all." "DON'T DO IT!!! She says it is easy but she doesn't show you how to do the ribbon which is not easy and she slams spending $600 for a professional brooch bouquet which in the end is totally worth it..." "This is a HORRIBLE way to make a brooch bouquet!!! Takes far too long and is extremely unprofessional in the end." These videos were filmed, edited and posted in order to help and encourage brides who cannot afford these expensive arrangements to do it themselves. This petition is not a reflection of Lionsgate Designs' work or products, it's simply a response to their attacks to the individuals who are advocating for a less expensive DIY approach. Tell Lionsgate Designs that THIS is not the way to do good business by boycotting her shop. -DIY Brides

Updates

August 2, 2012

I am currently documenting these instances of harassment and preparing a formal complaint to send to Etsy regarding their seller conduct policies. Several independent tutorial creators reached out to confirm they have received similar hostile comments from the same source. We are now cataloging these specific interactions to demonstrate a clear pattern of intimidation.

By Lionsgate Designs posting such awful comments, I am consciously making an effort NOT to buy from them. If they didn't post such horrible comments, it would have been a company I'd consider buying from. Not anymore. Congratulations on permanently losing a customer.

Horrible way to run a business! If your bouquets are well made and beautiful enough to stand on their own, why be worried about those if us who cannot pay over $700 on a brooch bouquet?! I considered purchasing a bouquet from Lionsgate because I thought they were beautiful bouquets and because I didn't want to take up a large chunk of my time to make one. Now I will make my own or purchase from another company! I plan to tell the other brides I know the tactics your company uses to try to boost sales! Don't stomp on the "little guy" or those who can teach others how to do something. Education should never be discouraged, no matter what subject!

WOW. Real professional guys. Hope those mean comments were worth losing customers over.

What a nasty way to treat people. There is plenty of room for both diy and pros. Not buying anything from here now.

I was actually looking at their site for my wedding next year but this is totally gross. Bullying people online just for sharing craft tips is super tacky. Lost a sale for sure.
