Fred Meyer Rewards cards award points and discounts only to customers who spend enough money to earn them. They also award discounts for gasoline. The Fred Meyer rewards card alienates those of lower incomes and encourages the burning of fossil fuels, and is a terrible form of poor shaming. We are asking Fred Meyer to change the policies of its rewards card to show appreciation to its many customers who earn incomes at or near the poverty line and who don't own vehicles.
