As a bartender at a sports bar in a major hockey town, I am absolutely disgusted and fed up with the lack of negotiations and willingness of both the NHLPA and the owners to bring a stop to the NHL lockout. What the players and owners do not understand is what affect this work stoppage has on the 'little' people who rely on the NHL to make a living. Whether it be concession workers, small local media outlets, sports bar owners and its employees etcetera, this lockout has to end soon. As bad as I feel for these millionaires and billionaires arguing over seemingly nothing in comparison, I feel like it's time for both sides to take a step back and have some compassion to the people who have helped made them this rich in the first place, the fans. I along with most diehard hockey fans will forgive and forget that this lockout ever happened, all I ask is that we the people boycott the first game back and show the players and the owners that without us, there will be no league. It feels like the players and owners are giving the fans the finger, and I think it's time that we give it right back!
