Final supporters
Due to the dreadful event at Boundary Dam located outside of Estevan, SK. The occurrence that took place during the afternoon on July 24th has been brought to my attention. Day-in and day-out families not only from Estevan visit Boundary Dam to take a day off and enjoy quality time together. Since Boundary Dam is a point of interest to go on such hot summer days then they should have at least one qualified lifeguard on duty watching over everyone in the water. Something has to be done about this as it can't go by like nothing ever happened because we all know we will remember this for a long time. My goal for this petition is for anything to be done to prevent anything like this from happening ever again. I hope you agree with me.
My most sincere condolences go out to this young boy's family in their time of need.

the people against this petition would say that lifeguards don't work at lakes and dams. well why don't we change that and stop the drownings of young children. yes he was out way too far but that would have been stopped by a lifeguard on duty. I sign this petition to stop the drownings and to hire lifeguards at The Boundary Dam Beach.
There has been more than one death at this Dam and now with more people going there because of available camping there is no reason why we can't have a lifeguard out there. I'm sure something as simple as Souris Valley Aquatic and leisure centre could cycle their Lifeguards on a rotation out at the Dam.
Swimming at boundary has always been dangerous. It was closed at one time because of the undertow from the spillway across from the beach. Way to many drownings young and old. I question having this swim area open without at least one life guard.
I agree the beach needs a life guard but once the currents get a hold of someone there isn't a chance a life guard can save them no matter how experienced they are. They need to have ropes or something put up only allowing a person to go so far out.
I grew up in that water I've always said we needed a life guard there wood lawn makes more then enough money charging the people to go swim there on top of boats and camping. I'm sure they make enough to cover a wage. It's a public place and should be safe
Yes it was a bad thing that happend,i have lived here for almost 30 years now,that dam has claimed many lives and now with having campers out there they should have a life gaurd on duty,it only makes sence,prayers to the family its all ways sad to lose somone,that didnt need to happen..
This should have never happened. ...my deepest condolences to the families of the casualties of boundary dam.
