Any country has the ability to set up its own national bank, and to create its own currency at no cost to the citizens. Canada has its own national bank, the Bank of Canada. Unfortunately, through ignorance or complicity, the government has ignored its responsibility to monitor and balance the actual currency within its borders and has allowed a recession to occur. With a single signature from our Minister of Finance, Canada could authorize the creation of enough currency to wipe out our entire national debt AND fully fund education, healthcare, and all other public infrastructure WITHOUT causing inflation. They could also uphold our constitution and stop private banks from creating false money through loans, mortgages and other credit instruments.
