Bobcats for Bobcats

We took them off the endangered species list, now we are going to put them back on after these killings. Stop the killings!

Why punish the bobcats for human encroachment of their habitat? They have a place and a purpose in the ecosystem just like the rest of us.

I am against trapping or hunting Bobcats!!

Stop trapping and killing bobcats

It has only been four years since Ohio removed the bobcat from the state's endangered and threatened species list and the ODNR funded multi-year study just began. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources proposed 2018 bobcat trapping season in the southeastern part of the state using inhumane steel-jaw leghold traps contradicts their own research. In an October 2017 report, the department wrote, "Little is known about the density and distribution of bobcats in Ohio, as well as the population trajectory, and which areas act as source populations. Such information is critical before decisions are taken on opening a trapping season and the maximum yearly take."  The data and ODNR funded Ohio University study results should steer bobcat conservation not an unnecessary and inhumane trapping season being proposed as recreation for trappers.

Stop the KILLINGS.. Save our world. We need to put greed and power aside and live in harmony with animals as well. This is a waste of precious lives.

I've lived at the edge of a woods in S.E. Ohio for 40 years. While I've seen many deer in these woods, I've never seen a bobcat. A season for killing bobcats is inappropriate.

I’m against of killing bobcats and any endangered animals!

The Ohio Bobcat has only recently been removed from the endangered and threatened species lists. There is no scientific evidence for the removal of the Ohio Bobcat from the list and we have no scientific evidence of the number of Ohio Bobcats present. Allowing hunting and trapping of this animal will ultimately lead Ohio Bobcats back to the threatened and endangered species list. It was just announced March 20th, 2018 that the last living male white rhino has passed away, leaving only two females behind to maintain the species. Is this what we want? Why is the ODNR considering allowing hunting and trapping of an animal that has previous evidence of being endangered? There is no scientific evidence that this species has sky-rocketed in number and needs population control, such as deer, squirrels, rabbits, etc. Do not allow this proposal to pass. We need scientific evidence that this species is reaching a maximum within its population, necessitating population control through hunting and trapping. Show us the facts or discard this proposal!

Bobcats are a vital part of the biodiversity of the American landscape. I am 100 percent opposed to the proposed rule changes for trapping in southeastern portion of the state of Ohio.

I do not believe ODNR can pull this can a prank on the pajama Republic without getting into a lawsuit class action in the state of Ohio

Save the Bobcats!

This is unnecessary and cruel.

These lovely creatures being reduced to a pelt to be shipped to China for somebody coat hats or gloves is bizarre. The rest of the bobcat is thrown away. A true waste of life. Stop the waste stop the madness
