Competition is needed and healthy for the economy. The system exists to support competition and encourage innovation, not strangle it.

I cannot afford the extortionate rates at the airport. Recently I left my car at home and ended up using public transport to and from the airport. I do not have family able to drive me & my pensioner mum to and from the airport for most journeys. On the way home I had to get a taxi from the airport to Central Station as there is no public transport link, then another taxi from Lisburn Station home as the last bus had gone when we got there. This was over £35 for 1 journey, and over £70 for both journeys - for 2 people - almost as bad as parking at the airport for 6 days. As someone on a fairly low wage, I can't afford either the public transport option - transport from my home to the airpot involves multiple bus and train journeys, and public transport to the airport from Belfast is non-existent or the airport car park prices. Boal is a reasonable price which cost significantly less than either of the other options. On top of the high cost of airport taxes for the City Airport, this has got to be one of the most expensive travel options in Northern Ireland. It is not one I will be choosing to use very often!

The car park is there and was not being used. To me it makes good sense for Boal to provide a much needed service.

Pure greed from Belfast City Airport. Not only do we need parking competition, we also need proper links between Sydenham Rail Halt and the terminal, thus connecting the airport to the rail network - but that would encourage more people to go to the airport by train, and reduce parking profits, so BCA won't do it.
