Our family members have attended Noll since it was Catholic Central in the 1930's. My Sons and Daughter's names are on that wall. Leave it alone!

I am not a part of the drama club/theater but I attend Noll and I think this tradition is fantastic, and I hope that it lives on throughout the years ahead!

I agree whole heartedly that this is a piece of BNI history that needs to be preserved. It represents not only the past, but future generations to come. I remember freshman year, the first time I was in that room, and the feeling of awe that overcame me to see all the names on the walls as well as the sense of community with all those who were there before me. I had the same feeling my senior year when I added my name. It is a special place that allowed so many of us to leave a small piece of ourselves in a place that made such a big impact on our lives.

The names on the walls of the workshop are not just names. They are a living collective of memories and tradition. Mostly silent yet their presence speaks volumes of shows past to those who are there now. Some names are relations of current students there now. Other names are reminders of those who are no longer with us. Ruzich and Szewka are just a few. Each year for homecoming I and other theatre alumni make it a point of reconnecting with names. It's neat to see something you wrote still on the walls 18 years later. Brings you back to a simpler time. Some things should just be left alone.

To do this deed is to wipe away a piece of our history as students. From a young age I was a social outcast, but drama club gave me a new meaning. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way. Those walls are a symbol of our accomplishments as students, friends, family, and members of something bigger than ourselves.

This is absurd. Drama should not be removed. Drama is a enormous part of our school and students love it.

They say that it's a family there...So ruining something that has been passed on for generations seems to be contradictory to family values. The workshop is evidence of people coming together to be a part of something that is bigger than themselves.

Bishop Noll's Drama Department has a long history of churning out spectacular actors, singers, comics, organizers, builders, painters, promoters, and friends. A lot of people wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for BNI Drama. A lot of people certainly wouldn't be the same if they hadn't joined Drama. Some people were members and have since passed on. Their names are immortalized alongside ours on those walls and it would be a huge disgrace to cover them up. Signing your name on the wall at the end of your final performance is part of the drama club experience as well as part of the Bishop Noll experience. You can't really explain it, but for a lot of us being in theater was the best part of high school. We all have some great memories there, and the paint on those walls is part of the legacy we all leave. It should be left as-is so future classes of students can add their name alongside all those who were there before them.
