i think they should be closed or called something else, maybe run something else during the year to crown the victorian state title holder. If its an open title then u mite as well call its the nationals

Everyone is complain about how interstate riders taking the vic plates but your all happy to travel to Tasmania, South Australia etc to take their plates.
I get that it can be unfair to not receive a plate at your own titles but it would be like another open racemeet if we close them.

I am all for closing the titles. I don't disagree that competition is great however this is what the Australian titles is for. I feel Victoria has enough riders not to have to open it to get numbers. Our kids ride hard all year and should have the opportunity to see where they stack up in their state against the riders they have been racing all year.

That's why they need to host both types of events. An open & closed champs, so everyone gets an opportunity to gain a plate at some point in the year!

keep them open, riders train to become the best, you can't be the best if you don't ride against the best. If you close the vics not only will numbers go down, it won't be anything special just another race meet in Victoria.
Train if you want a plate.
Not everything is handed to you on a silver plater, you got to do the hard yards to get what you want.

Absolutely NOT! Keep them open, we/us/ Victorians own that time of the year on the BMX calendar, closing the BMXV state titles is not the solution to giving your/our riders recognition, if anything it should motivate you/riders/parents to train and improve more and prepare them for national title events. If you want Victoria riders to take all the BMXV plates on offer at states then the problem lies in the foundations/structure of the sport in Victoria. Closing the state titles will just turn it into another open/sanctioned event that nobody will care about.
KEEP THEM OPEN

Agree 100%. Our state riders work so hard during the year, attending opens all over the State so that they can give everything at the State Titles yet walk away without a V plate, not happy Jan.

Absolutely 100% agree with this. Our riders work hard all year and should be recognised for this. There are already other states that have put this in place and yet their riders come to our State event, not fair guys!

Happy for interstate riders to compete but all plates should go to Vic bmxers. Say if there are 10 riders who finish semis and then finals are run but won by 4 interstaters the other plates should be distributed bw 1-10.

Aren't they for encouraging our kids in each respective state it is a bit rude not letting each state accurately see who the best in that state is on that day ( state titles) it's in the name

I reckon the Victorian kids should be the first priority over all other issues.

As Gary said... Wyndham proposed a closed state titles months ago to BMXV, this idea was refused by PC in previously years. This is what has been suggested as race format for the Wyndham event in 2016.
A closed state titles along with an open state titles is the best option. That way everyone gets a chance & revenue is still collected from interstates at an open state titles.
Great idea, let's see what comes of it...

I believe that BMXV should keep their state plates for Victorian riders only and the same should apply to all other states.
If 2 other states lock it out so should we??
