Petition to Review and Implement a 5-Day Work Week for Operations

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned members of the Operations Department, respectfully submit this petition to request management’s consideration in revising the current working schedule. At present, the Operations team is required to work six (6) days per week with one (1) day off. After careful review and discussion among team members, we wish to propose a new schedule of five (5) working days with two (2) rest days per week, while still maintaining the company’s standard total of 45 working hours weekly.

To achieve this, we suggest the following work schedule:

Working hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. (inclusive of lunch break),Monday to Friday

Total weekly hours: 45 hours

This adjustment will not reduce productivity or working commitment, as the proposed timing ensures that the total working hours remain equivalent to the current system. However, the additional rest day will significantly contribute to improved employee well-being, morale, and long-term performance. It will also help reduce fatigue, enhance focus, and encourage a healthier work-life balance — ultimately benefiting both employees and the company’s operational efficiency.

We believe this proposal aligns with modern workplace standards and the company’s commitment to promoting a sustainable and motivated workforce.

We sincerely hope management will review this request positively and consider implementing the 5-day work week schedule on a trial or permanent basis.
