The school board finally backed down and dropped these ridiculous dress code policies. They wasted our time and punished students for leggings while ignoring actual education, but we forced them to stop. Keep your eyes open because we will not let them try this garbage again.

Blytheville high school has made alot of changes since school has started including dress code. Meaning girls will be sent home and get detention for wearing leggings and boys will be sent home for slides, as well as detention. Things like body harrassment for thicker girls versus a size 4 will be sent home and asked to change. Instead of focusing on education they have chosen to focus more on what we wear. While other school districts around us have more relaxed dress codes which results in better test scores and grades than us.This plays a part in our education because a student who gets sent home to change are more than likely to not return to school resulting in missed lectures, learning opportunities & absences.

Sept 26, I will hopefully be speaking at the School board meeting.

Please help me by signing this petition and bring this concern to their attention.

The momentum we have built makes it clear that the administration cannot ignore us anymore. The higher-ups at Blytheville High School are prioritizing policing our bodies over our actual education and it is time to force their hands.

I think all grades should be allowed to wear shorts as long as they come to the knees and sandals and slides should be permitted as well. As a parent of a thicker child body shaming is a form of bullying and should never be tolerated by anybody.

Every school around our area let the kids wear whatever they want, but Blytheville they be so worried about the dress code instead of the education. Some kids might not be blessed enough to wear the right size clothes. Some might be well figured that thats the way their clothes fit. Concentrate on education more and maybe test scores will rise.

I support! Plenty of times plus size girls has been told what can and cant wear versus what the smaller girls actually wear.

They rather keep us out of class to wait for someone to bring us clothes than let us get our education.

I feel that I isn’t fair for the PLUS size students to be treated like that because of their size..a small, petite girl can get pass with leggings but a big bone girl can’t. Which makes them feel like there less than

I agree 100% with you, like I understand that some people might go overboard with the dress code but I just feel like, especially for us thicker girls, we shouldn't have to be put in a box and not be able to wear things that the smaller girls can, that isn't fair at all and if you all are worried about make attention then I feel like that not our problem we can't help who does and doesn't look at us, I can't help if someone is so happened to be turned on by my shoulders and my legs, that person just needs to seek help

The students are also not allowed to wear shorts. This is inappropriate!

Pay more attention to school work, not clothing.
