It is very dangerous and the cars never stop when someone is at the crosswalk. There are a lot of children that cross there to go to the playground.

As the Dad of five-year-old, nine-year-old and thirteen-year-old boys who frequents this park and Maryland State Delegate for Kensington (18th Legislative District), I fully supports this important pedestrian safety measure

We have lived in the neighborhood for over 20 yrs and were TBRILLED when the crosswalk was fi ally put in fo access the park, but often the cars still don't slow down/stop when they see pedestrians waiting to cross. As an adult, I will step into the crosswalk and proceed to the middle of the street and stop, not letting my kids begin to cross until the cars have stopped completely. I have had more than a few close calls as drivers are not even paying attention while they fly up that road. We need that center sign back, at the VERY LEAST. Thank you.

i have lived on Brookfield Dr. for 15 years and have seen many near fatal hits and almost hits at that crosswalk. Its very dangerous and drivers do not seem to care or notice there are children crossing there.

Motorists do not have consequences for failing to stop. Lighted crosswalks lessen incidents.

Flashing lights in the crosswalk similar to those in Garrett Park would be highly beneficial at this crosswalk, where the majority of use is by families with young children or preteens/teens on their own.

I have had two harrowing experiences at that cross walk with my 4 and 6 year olds. People use Summit to avoid the Connecticut Ave traffic. They drive too fast without regard for the cross walk. With the number of kids crossing that intersection, it is a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt.

I have 2 little kids who use this crosswalk all the time, it is definitely scary and needs some safety measures!

Cars almost never stop at either crosswalk on Summit. We use both the one at Bookfield and the one at the curve at Cedar and Summit. I have even seen a police car go through while I was waiting to cross. Perhaps a sign will help or adding a bucket of flags like in Garret Park. Traffic has increased on this road and it is a real problem.

I'd love to see the safety of this crosswalk improved as it's a frequent crossover point for kids.
