Brothers I am writing to you with the purpose of giving Lambda Lambda an official chapter charter date. Most of us were initiated with with the knowledge of Lambda Lambda being reactivated in 1985. With that said to be reactivated would have meant we existed before 1985.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The official way of determining when our chapter was chartered would be to find the charter application on file at Nationals. I did in fact go to Nationals a few years ago to locate this documentation, but the only charter application they have on file is dated 1985. However, I did find several other documents showing proof that Lambda Lambda had brothers at Penn State University (hereinafter PSU) in 1979.

I found approved applications for membership to Lambda Lambda for 7 brothers representing 2 lines. Nationals received/approved these documents in April 1980. So a recognized chapter had to be chartered by 1980. These documents were given to Brother Kevin L. Wallace who at the time was a student at PSU.

Brother Charles Grady Stafford and Brother Ronald Anderson crossed January 28, 1979.

I am moving for the chapter to vote on this date to make it official. This will give us a firm foundation for the chapter's future growth, prosperity and service in the community. I realize not every chapter brother is in our Facebook group but this petition link can be emailed to brothers who are not on FB but should still be included. If during this process any one comes up with a charter application from '79/80 then that would be our official date.
