Today, Saturday, at 1 pm, the Florida Alpha Chapter House Association will conduct a vote that many of the brothers perhaps have not heard about: They will vote to decide whether to accept an offer of $11.5 million to sell the house and land where Phi Delta currently stands. This vote is likely to pass despite continued efforts of the active brotherhood, including an overwhelming vote, to keep this from happening. Many are concerned with the sale itself, but also the terms of which it will be sold and the lack of plans for a new house or a new property.

While the sale could ultimately be a sound business decision, it is the concern of some within the brotherhood that this decision is being made hastily and with very few of the alumni aware of the situation. And so...

We, the undersigned brothers of Phi Delta Theta's Florida Alpha chapter, urge the Florida Alpha Chapter House Association to decline any offer that would require the sale of our fraternity house, and instead invite an open discussion amongst other alumni and the active membership as to what we can do to preserve this essential part of our fraternity.
