Mr. Paul Sturkie has requested to subdivide and rezone the property located at the corner of Willie and Parker Streets for the purpose of: 1) subdividing the land so he can retain the smaller lot currently containing a "HUD" qualified multifamily building. 2) selling the remaining "L shaped" lot to a developer that has presented a Townhome Development that will increase the density of the property and traffic. The neighbors are objecting to this request for the following reasons: 1) Retention of the multifamily building that has a history of crime and continues to attract criminal activity. 2) Increasing the density of the property thru rezoning to single family attached developments will increase traffic on "narrow" residential streets increasing the risk of harm to children who reside locally and attend the neighboring school. Decrease desirability for resale of neighboring single family detached dwellings.
