This will be a great space for binging people together creatively.

I can see the problem here apart from a desire from certain elements in the town to say no to any growth. Keep plugging away...

I think an arts area is brilliant for all ages, to have permission to use the land and be given sheds, in which arts of all sorts can be created, is a wonderful thing for Blandford both for its community and visitors. I cannot understand why the Planners have such a problem with the idea. Yes please, permit this great idea.

This type of community initiative is needed and will be welcomed. I can't see how harm to the surrounding environment is being caused by these sheds or will be caused by people coming to use it. Considerably more harm is set to be done by other local building projects that will remove multiple mature trees, and the planning dept seems OK with these, probably because those developers have considerably more money than this project. Try doing something because it's the right thing, rather than for love of money and power.

The proposal looks just fine to me and seems a great use of the space. I am a Dorset resident and agree we need more footfall in our towns. This project should be granted planning permission.

I like Kate's idea and think it would benefit Blandford.

I think this will be great for the town. We need to be creative about how we use our local spaces and I do not see this as causing significant harm

There needs to be more in Blandford Forum than charity shops and takeaways.

Sheds are temporary, but very effective for short and medium term projects.

The arts have suffered so much recently. If we have the opportunity to establish an arts hub in our town and we are fortunate enough to have people like Kate who give their time and passion to drive such a project, this should not be hampered by red tape. I passed the sheds recently, they look wonderful and with new businesses opening up in Nightingale Court this is an excellent time to bring more life to this end of town and give us all more reasons to visit.

This is a very useful addition to Blandford since it has no regular home for artistic endeavours. I cannot see why it would be considered a detriment, particularly since the land has been derelict for as long as I've lived here. Perhaps the council would share its views with its employers so we could understand their reluctance to encourage and assist?

Great idea! The land is completely unused at the moment - if everything is good to go, then why not. Got to be better than letting it become overgrown and unkempt again.
