Dear all, I am not one for taking easy offence, but I was really shocked to find that there is a new make up range, who's target market is black and Asian women, called 'Black Up' I think that it is an incredibly inappropriate and ill conceived name for the range. It may not have negative connotations in other markets, but In the UK I think it does. Ultimately we will be doing 'Black Up' a favour, it will cost money to re-brand it to a more appropriate and less offensive name, but worth the expense as it would generate publicity for them, and a bigger share of the market. There is certainly a gap in the market for a a high end make up/ beauty range - but not with such an ugly name! Please sign this petition and maybe we together can force 'Black Up' to come up with an inoffensive more imaginative name!
