Jack Daniel's is illegally building Barrelhouses in Lincoln County. A back room deal between Mayor Newman and Jack Daniel's has allowed Jack Daniel's to avoid any requirement to go before the Lincoln County Planning Commission, they pay no permit fees, they can't be inspected by the county Building inspector, and our fire and emergency personnel are banned from responding to any emergency.

It's bad enough this has all been done illegally by the good old boy club, but what is worse if we all know Jack Daniel's warehouses and distillery create a black fungus that covers all surfaces that don't move. Houses, plants, trees, cars, and road signs are covered in a black fungus that must be removed with a combination of bleach and water. This fungus has a 4-mile radius from wherever it is produced. This means many of our Lincoln County neighbors will have their property's beauty destroyed if the Lincoln County Commission doesn't require Jack Daniel's to take steps to limit or reduce the transmission of this black fungus.

If Jack Daniel's will install air filtration systems in each barrel house they build in Lincoln County, these properties will not be blighted by this disgusting fungus and they can continue to enjoy the beauty of the land they worked so hard to purchase.

We will provide this petition to the Lincoln County Commission on Tuesday night during the commissioners meeting. We know everyone can't come to the meeting but signing this petition will tell the commissioners that Lincoln County won't stand for a company that pollutes our environment and provides little benefit to the community.

Jack will pay property taxes on their warehouses but this amounts to less than 5% of all property tax collected in Lincoln County. Let's tell the commission we want companies that provide jobs, create investment in our community, and improve the overall quality of life in Lincoln County. Don't let Lincoln County be Jack's storage facility. Sign this petition and let your voice be heard.
