At some point, retail America lost sight of basics. Those basics being family. When and why did corporate America become more important than family? This holiday season, many retail workers will fore go their Thanksgiving dinners with their families to work for their employer at a retail chain that will open at some ridiculous hour on Thanksgiving to start Black Friday sales. With the past year's tragic events, family is so important. People are being forced to decide between spending a holiday of giving thanks with their family and providing for their family. How is this fair? How many would continue to shop on Black Friday if it meant giving up their holiday? It is too late to get the holiday back for these workers, but you can take a stand by not shopping Black Friday. Most retailers will have continued sales through the holiday season both in their stores and online. Please DO NOT shop on Black Friday if you wish to give Thanksgiving back to these associates.
