Weaves just emphasis how fake you are. You're wasting you time, money and real ethnic beauty when you put that dead squirrel on your head. It's unnatural. No one believes the weave is your real hair and for those who say it looks completely normal just think : Bone straight hair on a negro looks completely natural. I know right? Take it off your heads it's disgusting and it's an addiction.

As a natural haired black woman myself, I see most black women that wear weave is mostly poor or on welfare. We don't Look feminine with weave. Also, we can show the world that afro-textured hair is just as exquisite like all hair textures.

I big chopped my permed hair, and I love my natural hair I'm no longer interested in hair that isn't grown from my roots. My mother permed my natural hair when I was young so I didn't have any say so until I turned 16. I'm now starting my natural hair journey.

The amount of non self hating black women that use weave is very low. The facts are that the standard of beauty is white and Black women emulate that with relaxers and weave to feel beautiful. Its understandable but its harmful for the Black image. Other races wear weave but they wear their own texture of hair, you don't see them trying to sneak a kinky curled weave on their head. You don't see Black woman wearing weaves of their own texture hair usually. If its braids or something okay but the ones who out long as European hair are just monkeys in a get up

I am a 53 year old Black female who has never worn a weave or wig. I used to get relaxers, but went natural back in 2008. My hair is completely natural and I am very happy with it. It has grown a lot and is much healthier. Natural black hair is not difficult to care for or maintain. I don't understand why so many black women spend so much money on fake hair. For my basic hair care, I use a non sulfate shampoo, moisturizing conditioner and any type of plant based oils, like almond, apricot or coconut oil.

I took my weave out 6 weeks ago. Hasn't been easy. I definitely have been working on self live. I also work predominantly with non blacks so I feared being seen as "too black". None of my worries proved to be true. I'm still Joy, that didn't change with the hairdo:)
