And: that the Seminary should make this response public to challenge other corporate bodies to do the same.

This petition is a splendid example of a progressive structure by which any institution may make reparations for the past injustices of slavery by re-orienting itself towards the future.

40 acres and a mule, however, this is the 21st century;therefore, in lieu of the mule, a Ford F-150 pick up will do.

Every seminary and for that matter every institution in America needs to be doing this.

Right is right....it is never to late to recompense for past wrongs. when people have been hurt...

Princeton seminary deeply affected (and redirected) my life. The soul of the seminary will be strengthened through the loving justice of reparations.

We like your idea! On March 8th, we visited the Communications Department office, delivering a draft press release for the March 23rd Town Hall and requested that they distribute it (or an edit thereof) to their media network. They declined. Later, the Seminary scheduled a Town Hall on campus the evening of the day the academic conference ends, April 9, 5pm. We have been invited to attend. ABS plans to participate. We have been told the President of PTS and at least some trustees will be there. Join us!

This is urgently needed work and the bare minimum of institutional responsibility on this.

I saw this on a Nj.com feed. I would love to see it publicized by the seminary or through the alumni office. This is a good idea - especially for the forgiveness of seminary loans. As someone who is STILL paying my loans - which were ruled not eligible for federal loan forgiveness because I consolidated them in 2011 - the time served was acceptable but the loan type wasn’t - whatever grace that can be extended to others should be extended to others. That won’t help me - I am Caucasian - but do what? I’d love to see the debt loan lifted from my brothers & sisters in the faith!!!
