Calling on the community to express their concerns over a repeat offender who has and continues to adopt dogs from Taree City Council. They then abandons/surrenders these animals knowing they can be instantly euthanised.

This person (Name and details will be given out to Council only) adopted a female Lab x on 25-2-14. The dog known as Bambi was return to the pound 6 weeks later.

After a discussion with a volunteer rescue worker on this date it was advised that a surrender to the pound can be a automatic euthanasia.
This person agreed and knew the repercussions but continued to go home and brought the dog back 10 minutes later. They were stopped at the gates by the volunteer who took and saved this dog which is currently still in care.

On October 2014 this same person contacted a National Rescue Organisation and requested that they wanted to adopt the female Mastiff pup on 14-10-2014 to which she did.

The next day she done the same and requested to adopt through the same organisation the Brindle Male Mastiff x pup approx 4.5mths old.

They adopted this 2nd pup on the 23-10-2014 from Taree Pound. Within hours they had contacted numerous rescue organisation to re-surrender this pup due to liking females better and not having enough time.
They also contacted the same National Rescue Organisation who they adopted through to take the pup back. This organisation agreed to take the pup back and euthanise him.
To which other rescues are currently working on a carer for this pup.

It has also became apparent that this same person has previously been Black Listed with the same organisation for doing the exact same thing with Kittens.

This organisation still allowed the person to adopt the 2 pups from them via Taree pound. They have now currently Black listed her against dogs aswell.

Which brings us to today 25-4-2014.
This person has now currently put their name to adopted another Brindle Female Masttif pup on the 28-10-2014.

They currently have other dogs that they own and live in a small duplex. They have contradicted themselves and openly admitted they can't handle big breed dogs nor have much time for pets so as to why they continue to adopt, then surrender these animals is concerning.

These pups and the Adult dog all had another rescue organisation who had options for them.

We have general concerns for these pups and knowing the history they should not be able to continue this behaviour.

As a whole we all have a duty of care to these animals and clearly they are being let down.

We ask that Taree City Council to refuse the adoption of the 3rd pup to these people and established a Black Listing of known offenders for the future of all the pound dogs.

Other organisations are now aware of this repeat offender and have them Black Listed.

We believe Taree council should also follow suit
