I am a poet and have been following you since 2017. Thank you and I would be willing to work with you as I am developing my own play and create a space for local and out of state poets to come and express themselves and the one place I love and literally around the corner from is the Strand Theatre. I just feel like Uphams Corner was truly a pioneer for blacks before gentrified. I appreciate you Tory

A Black Box at the STRAND is an excellent idea. In the years prior to major renovations, the Boston Center for the Arts had a Black Box that was quite active and well attended. Often because it was the only viable choice.

This is a great idea. I've thought many times about this space @ the Strand being used by the neighborhood. The same with the old furniture building in Dudley that we lost to gentrification. There are so many areas of Boston that don't belong to its residents but to newcomers with a lot of money. Very sad.
I would say to include membership costs for students and the poor folks with talent that cannot afford rental costs. Sliding scale fees or membership discounts for occassional use. Also, there should be 2 people for house manager (maybe asst. House manager) so that one person doesn't get burned out and there is someone who can keep things afloat if the HM is away or sick.

I've sold out the Strand on numerous occasions, no stranger to the stage production, public relations aspect of the arts in & around the region. www.dymondsareforever.com
